Today we got the battery box mounted to the swing arm. It was two bolts. Also got my ass to work on mounting the CB360 rear fender to the swing arm for a nice, tight and clean look. The first idea of a mounting bracket off the battery box got tossed because it looked cheesy, so into the scrap pile I went, where I found my brake stay off my KZ that wasn't being used. I cut it in half and then angled it with the fender, which wound up following the angle to the frame. I got lucky and found some spacers from other bikes to mount everything tightly.Then I got to have a little fun on my first rear strut sissy bar idea, well not the first, I had another one where I cut spades on my KZ, so didn't want to do that. This one is kinda simple with some bends to it to look different. Used the stock mounting bolts from the CB360 fender with some hollow 1/2 steel rod and four sections of bent-up 5/16 steel rod. Still have to clean it all up, but the bike looks so much better now the rear is all fabbed up.

Their are alot of bikes than can be bobbed ,chopped or cafed that wouldn't be thought of. Really glad ya like it! maybe when this is done. You'll get yours out the barn! dust its shoulders off! Eric

ReplyDeleteThe sissy bar is mounted to the swing arm and fender so the whole thing moves together being able to give that tight look to the rear end.
